Helena is the consummate learning and development specialist combining skill, experience, intelligence and personality to provide high quality learning and development services. Helena’s public sector experience spans over fifteen years, with thirteen in law enforcement as a Detective, working in across multiple areas of crime operations, specialist investigation training, program design and learning and development.
Following her highly successful AFP career, Helena continued her focus on learning and development in the public sector before joining the Wisdom team. Her public service career has included senior management and executive level roles where she has combined her strong educational background with extensive practical real-world experience including project management and strategy development.
Helena has strong capabilities in leadership, management and investigative best practice. She has designed, developed and delivered training around Australia and overseas on behalf of the Australian Government, often in highly politically sensitive environments. Helena received a Secretaries Commendation for Innovation as a direct result of her work on leadership training at the Department of Home Affairs and an Australia Day Award for her contribution to reinvigorating Investigations Training for the AFP.
Helena has a keen interest in personal resilience through her operational law enforcement experience, she has demonstrated personal resilience in various environments, including mentoring and coaching others to cope with volatile situations. She now uses her experience to help others learn about the practice of self-compassion, embedding healthy habits and building resilience using a growth mindset. She has a passion for helping staff manage change and adapt their mindset to deal with the fast-paced environment we work in today.
